Amalia 1 solar array is now fully operational Featured

Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Officials say the new Amalia 1 solar array is now fully operational... and with that, all businesses and homes in north central new mexico are solar-powered an average of 300 sunny days a year. The 14-acre array will add to power already being generated from an array built by Chevron Technology Ventures near Questa. The project is located in the sngre de cristo mountains. The system, at full capacity, has an expected annual output of more than 2-point-9-million kilowatt hours. CEO of the kit carson electric cooperative - Luis Reyes - says the array created 30 temporary and two full-time jobs.... and he says it represents a unique collaboration betwen entities that are different - but have common goals.
